ON-DEMAND TALENT COMMUNITY

Homebase for a certain kind of someone.

The Werkling Community is for the kinda people who want to be surrounded by other fabulous gigging humans.

They can go by many names, some call themselves independent consultants, freelancers, or On-Demand Talent. Whatever they call themselves, the thing that these talented humans have in common is that they want to work and have impact in another way.

On-Demand Talent add value across a portfolio of projects and organisations by drawing on their insanely impressive experience, playing to their strengths, and delivering the goods each and every time.

The experience On-Demand Talent has typically gained across their career in in-house roles, their ability to deliver the right solution and their willingness to step in and out of organisations as needed is so, so, soooo valuable to today’s Leaders.

Werkling’s a proud and loud supporter for On-Demand Talent in Australia and New Zealand, and…

…in the Werkling Community, we’re supporting On-Demand Talent to come together in the same place.

“I love being able to connect with like-spirited people who are working on interesting things and want to make a positive difference in the world of work.

The Werkling community is super supportive, there are plenty of events to get involved with and lots of resources shared.

Oh, and plenty of jokes on the Slack channels too!”

Time for a little heart dipped in cheesy goodness…

In the Werkling Community…

We love being the homebase and space where On-Demand Talent can come to share a little and learn a little.

We love our shared focus to both back ourselves and others who operate in adjacent and overlapping areas.

We love the happy and helpful connections we have in our shared Slack channels.

We look forward to and enjoy coming together (virtually and IRL) when we want to connect, collaborate or chew the fat over a juicy topic.

And lastly, we’re so so soooo proud to be the place where On-Demand Talent feel they can belong.

FAQs

Everything you need to know has been asked and answered in the questions below. An important note to note is that new On-Demand Talent is welcomed into the Werkling Community by referral. However, we do invite new Community members from the expressions of interest forms we receive.

If you’re ready, you can submit your expression of interest here.

Rightio, back to those questions…

The short answer is anyone who is working with an ABN, insurance and all the trimmings who help Leaders to deliver professional projects and services (aka gigs!) can call themselves On-Demand Talent.

The little longer answer is someone working as On-demand Talent may think of themselves as Corporate Escapees, Independent Consultants or Freelancers and may have a portfolio career and work (or want to work) across a number of projects and organisations.

Typically, anyone working as On-Demand Talent has previously worked in in-house roles where they’ve gained insanely impressive experience and who has built a set of skills that they use to deliver impact.

Mostly, yes. But we do have some absolute legends who work in other professional fields and they’re an important part of the Werkling Community.

Yes (and no).

It’s important to note and by suuuuper clear on what the Werkling Community is about and for.

The Werkling Community is a place and space that supports individuals working as On-Demand Talent — each member has a strong focus on connecting and contributing to the community.

You’re heard right, Werkling does receive Gig Briefs from Leaders and handpick the right-fit On-Demand Talent from our Werkling Community.

To be really clear, up front, and to establish really real expectations (with the kindest of kindness), not everyone will be matched to a gig.

When On-Demand Talent join the Werkling Community it’s because they’re looking for a place where they can connect with like-hearted humans who have moved out of in-house roles and are navigating gig life.

The Werkling Community is billed as a monthly subscription at a cost of $19.95+gst/month, for which you get access to our Slack workspace, our schedule of monthly virtual events, in-person get-togethers, discounts with partners and market snapshots in our monthly newsletters.

The best part is that when you’re a part of the Werkling Community you’ll share a space with some of the most incredible and insanely talented humans working as On-Demand Talent.

We welcome new On-Demand Talent to the Werkling Community by referral.

There are two ways you can get your hot little hands on a referral if you have worked with someone who is:

  1. a member of the Werkling Community, please ask them for their unique referral link, or
  2. a Leader who’s a Werkling fan, please ask them to refer directly to the Werkling Community by sending an email to hello@werkling.com with a few words about why they think you’re the bees knees.

If you’re not yet connected to one of our connections above, then you’re most welcome to submit your expression of interest.

If you’re new to working as On-Demand Talent or planning to make the great escape, we have something you can do now.

The Werkling Community Corporate Escape Accelerator Program (CEAP) has been designed with you in mind. In a series of short audio clips and downloadable resources we support you to get started by sharing some of our knowledge and experience of working as On-Demand Talent.
