Our gig matching process
It’s so important that we’re all on the same page … and this is the page!
The matching bit
“I just been matched to a gig! What’s happened and what comes next?.”
1. THE GIG BRIEF
Leaders submit a brief in our platform, with just the right amount of information for us to match the right-fit On-Demand Talent from the Werkling Community to the need.
2. THE MATCH
Based on your Talent Profile, gig reviews, referral strength and community involvement, we’ll identify the best-fit On-Demand Talent from our Werkling Community to share the gig opportunity with.
3. YOUR RESPONSE
If we’d like to consider you for the gig match, you will receive a notification prompting you to either express interest (“Interested“) or decline (“Decline“) the gig on the platform. If we know anything more than what is contained in the brief your notification email will ask you to book a time for a chat with us.
4. YOUR TALENT PROFILE
If you’re interested in the gig, you’ll need to make sure your Talent Profile is looking tip-top. An important part of this is selecting the gigs from your Gig Library that you’d like to share with the business leader. Make sure to select only the gigs that are most relevant to the current opportunity. You may also choose to add some new ones that best demonstrate your experience and results. Once this is done, let us know that your Talent Profile is ready to roll by clicking “Profile ready to be sent.”
At this point it is also worth checking that you have a current Calendly (or other booking tool) link in your account so the Leader, if they so desire, can book time with you.
5. THE RECOMMENDATION
Once you have told us that your profile is ready to be sent, we’ll review it alongside others who have submitted their interest. The strongest profiles that demonstrate the delivery of similar pieces of work and results will be submitted to the Leader. Only profiles with a Calendly (or similar) link will be shared. You will be notified if/when the business leader would like to meet with you.
A kinda important note
As you know, nothing is certain until it’s locked and loaded.
Needs change, other options are sourced, budgets disappear. We get it! It’s disappointing for us too.
We are doing our best to keep things moving and keep you updated but some gigs will fizzle.
The landing the gig bit
Yippee! The Leader wants to meet with me. Where to from here?
1. THE DISCOVERY CALL
Once the business leader falls in love with your Talent Profile, they will request a meeting using the Calendly link that you’ve provided. Once a meeting has been booked, please jump onto the platform and enter the meeting date on the Meetings tab. We’ll leave you to scope the work and ask all the right questions in the meeting. You’ll get into the details of what is needed, understand any constraints, and what they are after in a proposal.
2. YOUR PROPOSAL
Following the meeting, jump onto the platform and let us know how it went. You will tell us that the meeting has happened (“Meeting complete“) and if a proposal was requested (“Proposal requested“). After you select both of these options, the Proposal tab will appear. This is where you will submit your proposal to the Leader (there is no need to email them too!). See ‘A must have Werkling reference’ below for important information to include in your proposal.
The Leader may accept, decline, or request an adjustment to the proposal via the platform. In any case, you will receive a notification.
3. THE APPROVAL
Once you have the green light on your proposal, get an agreement in place between you and the organisation as you would for any other gig (just remember to include ‘A must have Werkling reference’!). In most cases Werkling will provide invoices services so we will be in touch with the Leader to organise this. You can learn more about the invoicing side of things here.
A must-have Werkling reference
PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING COPY IN YOUR PROPOSAL AND AGREEMENT/SOW
Rate/Cost: xxxxxx +gst
Plus a Werkling Talent Matching fee: 12% of gig value (with Gig Ready Membership)
This is a < Talent business name> x <Client business name> collaboration made possible by Werkling. The contract setting out the services between the parties will be determined separately from Werkling, but the invoicing will be facilitated by Werkling at the direction of the parties.
NOTE: PLEASE CHANGE THE FEE TO 10.5% FOR NFP
The kicking off the gig bit
What happens after I start work on the gig?
1. YOUR KICK OFF
It’s time for you to shine! You deliver as promised, letting the leader know if there are any changes to scope, approach or timelines (or anything else that has been agreed to). See below for information on Invoicing.
2. THE CHECK IN
We’ll check in with you and the Leader to see how things are travelling, usually in the first week or two. If we hear any feedback from their side, we’ll be sure to let you know.
3. YOUR INVOICING
The invoicing frequency will be as per your proposal – 100% upfront, Milestones, 50% upfront/50% at conclusion, or Monthly.
You will upload your invoices to the platform. Head here for more information on invoicing.
3. THE WRAP UP
Let us know when you are done and dusted (“Gig complete“) in the platform and we’ll send the leader a quick, confidential survey. We will also connect with you to see how it all went.
